Executive Coach Bios

Dr. Steven Craig, Psy. D. and Executive Coach, brings a unique and hard-to-find background to executive coaching. He is a highly-trained and experienced business owner who also worked for many years in account management for top-tier advertising agencies in New York and Chicago. In addition, he is also a well-known clinical psychologist who has run a successful therapy practice for over ten years focusing on helping top level executives change and grow in both their personal professional lives.  His thorough understanding of the corporate world as well as the difficult interpersonal dynamics of change and the change process enable him to provide executives with insights that speak to the challenges of business leadership.  His rare mix of talent have made him a highly sought after coach and he has appeared in the media numerous times including a recent appearance on ABC World News Tonight with Charles Gibson. He has a very engaging, personable style that puts most people at ease and is best known for providing concrete, common sense, solution-oriented coaching that focuses primarily on helping clients recognize and build on their strengths as they improve their overall performance. Denise Henderson, Executive Coach, has held leadership and management positions in large health care organizations, higher education and state government.  For over twenty years, she has worked with various individuals and teams resulting in more purposeful lives. While at Henry Ford Health System, she developed a Minority and Women Mentoring Program which received national and local recognition.  Denise believes that, “It all begins with a vision of whom or what we could be.”  She completed her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Wayne State University and her master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling at the University of Detroit.  Denise is a certified coach through Coaching Training Alliance and she has completed numerous coaching, management and leadership development programs.

Caryn L. Mateer, Executive Coach, has over twenty years of experience in leadership as well as supervision. She is the Organizational Development Officer for a non-profit financial services organization where she provides oversight to the Human Resources, Education & Learning and Operations departments. Previously Caryn worked for Michigan State University in the field of Career Services and Placement.  Caryn’s interest in personal, leadership and career development is evident from her educational pursuits. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and a Master’s degree in University Administration with a cognate in Career Development from Michigan State University. She has also obtained the SPHR designation from the Human Resource Certification Institute and a Certificate in Leadership from the University of Michigan Executive Education Program. Caryn has furthered her expertise with coaching through training from iPEC-the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. Her personal philosophy of coaching involves self-awareness and empowerment.

Kathleen Riley, Executive Coach, is a Senior Partner and the Founder of Transformational Leaders Intl. She is the author of What You Feel is Real and its journal companion. She is past President of a thirty-year-old outplacement firm. Since 2001, Riley has coached a variety of senior level executives in advertising, engineering, finance, marketing, and executive sales through career development, personal growth, and effective leadership skills. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Michigan State University and has an Advanced Corporate Coaching Certificate from Corporate Coach U, Inc.

Susan West, Executive Coach, coaches leaders to accomplish goals they thought were out of reach; who shares knowledge creating power in others; and who motivates teams for breakthrough results. As President of TechCentral, she was instrumental in bringing the owners together to create a new joint venture and establish the infrastructure foundation to operate the company. Ms. West received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Economics from Alma College. She also holds a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
