Wellness Coaching for Leaders

Wellness Coaching for Leaders is a process of inquiry and personal discovery to build a client’s awareness, self-responsibility and personal power as it relates to health and wellness. Proven indicators show that by engaging in a proactive approach to life, people are self-empowered and move forward in healthier, more productive ways. The coaching provides structure, support and feedback for lasting change including tips on energy systems, nutritional awareness, stress reduction, personal growth and mindfulness for behavior change.

Wellness Coach Bios

Marian Bjerke, RN, MS, cWC, LLP, CAAC, is a Health and Wellness Coach who draws upon her medical knowledge as a Registered Nurse and psychotherapy experience as a Limited License Psychologist into her Wellcoaching practice. Marian is also a Certified Advanced Addiction Counselor. Marian’s experience includes working as a community health nurse educator and has developed, implemented and facilitated programming in congregational, community and hospital settings for healthy lifestyle initiatives. Marian is also a workshop presenter. Marian provides individual health and wellness coaching in a hospital setting and is a practicing therapist who specializes in mental illness and addiction. Marian believes her role in coaching is to provide individuals with their primary opportunity for growth which includes open communication, collaborative problem-solving and realistic goal setting for success.

Dr. Steven Craig, Psy. D., brings a unique and hard-to-find background that combines integrated wellness, growth and development coaching. He is a well-known clinical psychologist who has run a successful therapy practice for over ten years focusing on helping top level executives change and grow in both their personal professional lives. He has a very engaging, personable style that puts most people at ease and is best known for providing concrete, common sense, solution-oriented coaching that focuses primarily on helping clients recognize and build on their strengths as they improve their overall performance. He is also the author of a soon-to-be published book on change and the change process.

Liz Kearns, MPP, CUCG, TLI Vital Wellness, works with individuals who are ready to change their relationship with food specifically, and wellness in general, by changing their relationship with themselves. Because the struggle with excess weight is usually related to emotional eating, Liz teaches mindfulness techniques the client can use to manage their emotional energy, instead of using food as a coping mechanism. She struggled herself with self-image and emotional eating issues and applies her philosophy and techniques in her own life. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science and a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, and a Certificate from Coach U, Inc. Her work experience includes a 20-year corporate career in health care administration at General Motors and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

Denise Henderson, MA, CLC, TLI Vital Wellness, as held leadership and management positions in large health care organizations, higher education and state government. For over twenty years, she has worked with various individuals and teams resulting in more purposeful lives. As a team leader of Human Resource Management with a large physician group practice, Denise implemented cost savings programs related to health and wellness benefit practices. Denise believes that, “It all begins with a vision of whom or what we could be.” She is a victorious champion over breast cancer and a firm wellness advocate of mind, body, spirit.  She completed her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Wayne State University and her master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling at the University of Detroit. Denise is a certified coach through Coaching Training Alliance and she has completed numerous coaching, management and leadership development programs.

Teri Kolar, MT-BC, MSA, TLI Vital Wellness, has a bachelor’s degree in music therapy, a master of science in hospital administration and a graduate certificate in complementary medicine and wellness. She has been working in the health care industry since 1990. She is experienced and credentialed to provide holistic and wellness treatment programs to both individuals and groups, including life and wellness coaching, stress management and relaxation. Teri sits on the strategic development board for Oakland University’s Complementary Medicine and Wellness program and is involved in several community initiative programs such as the Oakland County Wellness Coalition and the Oakland County Health Alliance.

Lisa Maura, RN, MS, cWC, PT (AFAA), is a certified Health and Wellness Coach. She truly believes that a life in balance is essential to a quality life. She will work with you to achieve your personal and professional goals; it is her objective. As a partner in your health and wellness, she will assist you in setting your priorities and creating a plan that will work for you. Providing motivation, inspiration and clarity, her goal is your success. Lisa is a Registered Nurse who holds a BSN from Wayne State University, as well as an MS in Health Service Administration from Madonna University. In addition, she is a certified personal trainer through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). Furthering her coaching knowledge, Lisa has taken multiple Master Level Coach Classes. In addition, she has presented exercise and wellness programs to area businesses and facilitated group coaching classes.
